The hikers' parking lot is further down the trail. It's certainly a nice spot near the wooden hiker.

The Marienbrunnen fountain provides drinking water. The plaque states that the fountain was restored in 1984.

A leisurely hike to the Weißenbachalm or Bärenbadalm, or more challenging climbs to the Bärenkopf, Stanser Joch, or Ochsenkopf. The Weißenbachsattel is the starting point for many beautiful alternatives.

Incredible panoramic views of Lake Achensee, the Karwendel and the Inn

Perfect views over the Bärenkopf to Lake Achensee and the Guffert to the north. To the southeast, Obertauern with the Großglockner, the Zillertal Glacier to the south, and the Karwendel to the west.

The well-designed roundabout in Maurach forms something of a town center. It is also home to Maurach Mitte train station and is surrounded by restaurants and shops.

The parish and pilgrimage church of St. Notburga in Eben am Achensee is a beautiful building with a Gothic tower and a bright Baroque interior (rebuilt between 1736 and 1738). 😊 Saint Notburga died in 1313 and was buried here. Today, her full-body relic stands in the magnificent high altar, which is somewhat rare even in Catholic tradition. 😇 The church is open during the day.
