Old Town Magazine: After the war, Karl Planeth volunteered to clear rubble, design, and maintain the area north and east of St. Peter's Church, especially the path below the city wall between Slüterstraße and Bagehl. For several years, the Association for the Promotion of the Eastern Old Town, together with the family members, has fought to have the newly constructed path named "Karl-Planeth-Weg." On November 5, 2010, the time finally came. The path along the city wall was given its name, "Karl-Planeth-Weg." At the same time, two memorial plaques were unveiled below the Slüter Monument and above the Gerberbruch. These explain who Karl Planeth was and why the path was named after him. The stone gate was first built in 1270 as a Gothic gate. It was once said to have been as big as the Kröpelin Gate. It was the main gate to Rostock's old town and led directly to the market square with the town hall.

The cycle path between Rostock and Sanitz has been completely renovated and is in excellent condition. Theoretically, the bypass no longer needs to be used, but it still remains a nice alternative.

On December 13, 1912, the Petri Bridge was approved for road traffic; the railway part followed a year later. Historical city maps and photos provide information about the further course of events around the Petri Bridge. A reconstruction of the Petri Bridge lasting several months followed.
