The hiking trail along the western shore is highly recommended. You'll be treated to magnificent views across the water and, at times, of the castle. It's best combined with a hike to Einfeld and the Einfelder See lake, and through the Dosenmoor nature reserve.

The route is not designed as a cycling route, and bicycles are prohibited in some areas. The majority of it is open only to bicycles, not e-bikes.

The panoramic forest path is a good 1 km long. Outside of the growing season, it offers a view of the lake and the monastery and leads past a fake megalithic grave.
