Lake Passad is one of the largest lakes in the Eastern Uplands of Schleswig-Holstein. It covers 2.7 km² and is up to 10.7 m deep. The lake is named after the neighboring town of Passade. Lake Passad is tributary to the neighboring, roughly equally sized Dobersdorf Lake and the eight times larger and comparatively deep Selenter Lake. This lake system drains via the Hagener Au into the Baltic Sea near Laboe on the Kiel Outer Fjord.

Even more natural is the Bottsand nudist beach, just a few hundred meters away, between the bird sanctuary and the Heidkate. I enjoyed going to Heidkate to go hang-gliding. Unfortunately, people often underestimate the dangers, and I often packed up to avoid endangering anyone. Keep your eyes open; there are warning signs on the beach, but they're not taken seriously.
