Giare winds along a long straight road that leads from Romea into the countryside. Numerous rural buildings line the road, evidence of the area's ancient agricultural vocation. The smallholders, once dedicated to grain production, have gradually turned to horticulture, both in greenhouses and outdoors. The flagship of this production is asparagus, which grows here in the most suitable soil for its quality and flavor. Alongside the family farms, there are also two large agricultural companies: Miana Serraglia and Pra. For nature lovers, Giare offers a unique view of the lagoon, with its canals and rows of reeds. You can stroll along the lagoon's embankment, past the boathouses called "cavane," new buildings for the shelter of fishermen, hunters, and birdwatchers. Continuing along the embankment, you can see one of the many Istrian stone boundary stones placed by the Venetian Republic in 1791, used to demarcate areas where construction was prohibited, thus taking away space from the water. It can be seen by walking for about two kilometers along the boundary embankment, starting from Via Ca' Nova towards the open lagoon.
