ピアーヴェ川は、美しい睡蓮や白鳥が点在する、のどかで静かな川で、まるでおとぎ話のようです。

カポスィレはヴェネツィア大都市圏にある居住地で、ムズィレ・ディ・ピアヴェ（フラツィオーネとみなしている）とサン・ドナ・ディ・ピアヴェ（ロカリタと分類している）のコムーネに分かれています。ピアヴェ川の右岸に位置し、シレ川がピアヴェ・ヴェッキア川に注ぐ地点にあります。この地域には、現存する数少ない跳ね橋の一つがあります。

偉大な作家ヘミングウェイの像がある塔が、ピアーヴェ川のほとり、フォッサルタ・ディ・ピアーヴェ（ヴェネツィア県）の近くにあります。

フォッサルタとノヴェンタ・ディ・ピアーヴェを結ぶポンツーン橋は、祖国に捧げられた川（Sacro alla Patria）における伝統的な河川工学の最後の証の一つである、印象的な浮遊構造物です。水面に沿って浮かぶ一連の連結された艀（はしけ）で構成されたこの構造は、両岸の間に不可欠で歴史的なつながりを形成しています。 その実用的な有用性に加えて、橋はユニークな感覚体験を提供します。軽い揺れと流れの音が、まれに見る美しい自然景観に浸った自動車やサイクリストの通行に寄り添います。地域固有のアイデンティティと、人間が常に川のリズムと対話していた時代の象徴であるこの橋は、技術的な創意工夫と河畔環境への敬意を融合させることができる、スローで意識的な移動手段を求める人々にとって、依然として重要な立ち寄り地です。

In Noventa, water flows, but memories endure. The words engraved on the lectern-shaped plaque encapsulate the meaning of the memorial area in the Gonfo floodplain, at the end of Via Ca' Memo, across from the pontoon bridge. More than a monument, a place where a low metal and wood platform half encloses a tree-lined space. The emblematic plaque was unveiled yesterday, facing the Piave River, to remember those who fought and died here in the final year of the First World War, as well as the people who, in peacetime, lived and worked near the pass, the ferry crossing the Piave, and those who lost their lives in the river's waters.

During World War I, after the defeat at Caporetto, the Piave River became the border between Italy and the Austro-Hungarians. The area adjacent to the river became a base for rescue battalions and troops. Among the latter was the American Red Cross, where ambulance driver Ernest Hemingway was stationed. Our places, traditions, and local people so impressed the American writer that he liked to call himself a boy from the "lower Piave." Wounded near Fossalta di Piave, he nevertheless devoted himself to saving other soldiers. From this powerful experience, he wrote his famous novel "A Farewell to Arms." The only American, Lieutenant Edward McKey, a friend of Hemingway, who fell in battle along the Piave, is buried in the Fagarè Memorial. Hemingway dedicated a poem to him, which is inscribed on the tombstone that is still visible today.
