ティチーノ川は、スイス南部とイタリア北部を流れる重要な国際河川です。水の量においてポー川の主要な支流であり、イタリアで2番目に大きい川です（河口での平均流量は約348 m³/s）。ポー川に次ぐ規模です。

The Blue Bridge over the Naviglio Grande is a well-known elevated railway bridge used for the High-Speed (TAV) Milan-Turin line. It is located in the section between the municipalities of Boffalora sopra Ticino and Bernate Ticino. This modern structure has become a well-known visual landmark for those who travel on foot or by bicycle along the Naviglio Grande cycle path. Features and Location The infrastructural context: The work directly spans the historic canal and is immediately followed by another green arch bridge, intended for traffic on the A4 motorway. Landmark for transit: Cyclotourists or runners along the towpath encounter this "double bridge" (the blue one for high speed and the green one for the motorway) just before entering the monumental town of Bernate Ticino, famous for its splendid Augustinian Abbey.
