A phenomenal summit with beautiful views, including the Grossglockner and Grossvenediger as well as the Watzmann and the Kaiser Mountains. This is definitely one of the most beautiful peaks in the Alps.

It is possible to drive from Stuhlfelden to the hut by car. Hikers can park a little below the hut in unmarked parking areas. We parked about 1.5 km from the hut and went over the Leitenkofel to the Geißstein and then back via the hut.

Johann Christoph Egedacher built a mechanical drawer organ with one keyboard and pedal for the Dekanatspfarrkirche in Stuhlfelden in 1706. The instrument was expanded by Mooser in 1826 with a Borstwerk. People were not satisfied with Mooser's work, so that the organ had to be repaired by Strobl soon after, while retaining the second manual. In 1963 Max Reinisch restored the instrument.

Stuhlfelden has the oldest church in Oberpinzgau. The first church "Maria am Stein" stood on a rock around 900. A Romanesque church was built in the 13th century. The present church was consecrated in 1511. Around 1900 it was redesigned in a neo-Gothic style. The Romanesque south portal from the 13th century is remarkable. The Antonius and Michael chapels are attached. At the high altar stands the Gothic miraculous image, the so-called "Stuhlfeldner Madonna" (around 1480), and so the church has been a highly venerated pilgrimage church for centuries. In addition to the annual deanery pilgrimage, on the 13th of each month; from May to October, pilgrimages take place. From here you have a nice view to the east and to the west. Several peaks can be climbed from the saddle and promise an even better view.
