An adventurous approach, barking dogs, thorny undergrowth. The dolmens were great, but unfortunately the hiking trail was not well maintained, so we turned back with our son.

The tower has a circular floor plan and consists of two large sections connected by a staircase carved into the thick surrounding wall. In 1412, the women of Alghero heroically defended this tower against an attack by the troops of the Viscount of Narbonne. In the 19th century, it became known as the Torre di Sulis after the Cagliari notary Vincenzo Sulis. He was imprisoned there from 1799 to 1821 for conspiracy and treason. The tower and the adjacent piazza have been a popular meeting place for years.

The caves are accessible from the road across a meadow. However, there are no paths, despite other claims to the contrary. We didn't find one, and the thistles and thorns make hiking less enjoyable. The area and the view are, of course, wonderful.

That must have been great. Unfortunately, everything is abandoned and nature is reclaiming it. What a pity!

The place's best times are behind it. There used to be so much to offer here. Now there are numerous lost places. The pizzeria is still there and a small new outdoor pool has been opened on the mountain. There is still hope. The trip is definitely worth it. 🏞
