The Frommer is worth a stop in both summer and winter. The coffee and food are good, and the service has been "consistent" for years. Conveniently located near the cable car station between Welschenhofen and the Kölner Hütte. Also a great place to stop for trail bikers 😉

Hagner Alm is an organic farm with its own alpine dairy. It is located on a sunny hill between Welschnofen and Tiers. Magnificent views and delicious cheeses await.

Upon request, we were also allowed to stay as non-guests in the summer.

Tires is an active village with a large number of hiking trails and cycle routes all around. They take you to destinations such as the Messnerjoch hut below the Rosengarten and the Haniger Schwaige and Plafötsch Alm near the Vajolet towers. The area is protected as the Sciliar-Catinaccio Nature Park, and is home to woodpeckers, owls, chamois and deer.

The village of Tiers can now also be reached via the Karer Pass and the Niger Pass, two popular routes for motorcyclists, mountain bikers and racing cyclists. The roads ultimately lead into the Eggental Valley and the neighboring Trentino. Directly on the main street of Tiers is the parish church of St. George, which attracts attention with its red tower with onion dome: inside it shows you three remarkable ceiling paintings by the artist Karl Henrici from 1772.

The church has a particularly idyllic setting because it is far away from the noise of traffic. St. Sebastian's Church is located on a low hill in a large meadow area, the so-called Weihboden, and can only be reached on foot. A pine forest borders the meadow area. St. Sebastian's Church is a simple church building with a small bell tower.
