Orino is the first route of the Paths of Peace, the redevelopment of the Northern Border. Better known as the Cadorna Line, the system of military fortifications protected the Swiss border during the First World War. The municipal route begins at the Orino Fort, at an altitude of 1,139 meters, and extends within the boundaries of Campo dei Fiori Park. In addition to the artillery emplacement, a cannon emplacement on Monte Tre Croci and the remains of overhanging walkways are visible. Unfortunately, there is a lot of traffic on this scenic stretch

Absolutely obligatory souvenir photo under the fresco of the champions. A symbolic place of cycling in Varese and beyond. A climb that must be done from the Rancio Valcuvia side, that of the 1953 World Championship and of many 3 Varese valleys

The bike path is perfect.

In between there is art along the way. Nice to drive

with some steaks to grill!

It's also an experience at night 😜. We girls really enjoyed it and it was a bit scary too 😉. The waterfall comes down like a veil, well worth seeing.
