The castle dates back to the 10th century; it is characterized by towers that surround various buildings added gradually over time. The name Valperga could derive from the Celtic vald (forest) and the Burgundian berg (mountain). With Valperga castle you can immerse yourself in history: at the end of the 11th century, the Silvesco and Droengo families built the fortified nucleus. In the 12th century, the manor passed to the De Canavese Counts, giving rise to the Counts of Valperga and San Martino. Wars, French occupations, other transformations in the 17th century... a compelling tale of nobility and change. Today the castle is a FAI site.

Inserted since 2003 in the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Sacro Monte di Belmonte is one of the most important religious centers in the province. With its sanctuary and the chapels of the Via Crucis, it is located on a hill that stands alone in the territory of the municipality of Valperga, at an altitude of 727 meters, covered by thick vegetation.

Sanctuary located on a mountain in the municipality of Valperga. Reachable both on an asphalted road and through a pedestrian and cycle cobbled road. The first evidence relating to a building in Belmonte dates back to the year one thousand, the sanctuary was first inhabited by nuns and then by friars. Since 2003 it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
