Blessed sculptures and great bike path!

In 1995, the town of Weil der Stadt installed the fountain, which is fed by a spring near the mill. Blacksmith Gerhard Längerer from Renningen crafted the four copper figures: Shepherd (1999), Dog (2002), Sheep (2007), and Schäfle (2009). The shepherd figure represents Fritz Weida, the last full-time shepherd of Schafhausen.

Be careful when crossing the street. It's a dangerous spot. And always keep to the right around bends, as there's a lot of bicycle traffic on the road.

It's okay as a connection to/from Lehenweiler or Venusberg. The surface is generally rough, and heavy goods traffic has left ruts on the right side. Trucks are prohibited here today! There are a few places where the road narrows – and then the median disappears – but it's usually not a big deal. However, if you want to cycle the entire route between Aidlingen and Dätzingen, you'd still be better off taking the separate bike path on the opposite side!

A large, very beautiful market square with the town hall as its central focal point. On the left (looking towards the town hall) is the Kepler Monument, and just behind it is the City Museum. On the right is the tourist information office.

Great idea with the self-carved pass sign. The only thing missing is a small refuge. Is the owner reading this? 😁 It has now been fitted out as an insect hotel, presumably to speed up the slow bikers with "bee stings". 😁

One of the best climbs in the area. Top surface and traffic-free. Nice and shady in summer. You only need nerves for the access from the Enztal, via Wildbader or Höfener Straße, as there is often a lot going on here. (The detour over the hump on the left to the residential area unfortunately ends up over a muddy trail and is therefore not suitable for pure racing bikes, but rather gravel/CX)

The work on the SCULPTOURA is one of the so-called ring frames, which are used individually as horizontal discs with a central slot, or as here as a stele made up of three such discs placed one on top of the other. The title reveals that these are vertical walls. The idea of the column, which usually grows upwards in a round or square shape, is thus combined with architectural components that are identified as walls. The "Ventes Verticales" do not stand on top of each other in a single plane, but are each rotated. In this way, Markus Strieder suggests a lightness that the solid steel cannot fulfill, but the artist's imagination can.
