In the area of Hemmeres, the now disused Vennbahn ran for a length of 1134 m on the east side of the Our. The Vennbahn's infrastructure was badly damaged in the Second World War, including when the Our Valley Viaduct north of Hemmeres was blown up by German troops on September 27, 1944.
