About three years ago, some sections were cleared. Since then, some of these areas have become densely overgrown and therefore difficult to navigate. Overall, however, the trail is still worth the effort.

In autumn 2024, the aging black shelter was replaced with a new structure. A panoramic lounger was also installed to better enjoy the view all the way to the Siegquelle spring on the Ederkopf in the Rothaargebirge.

Very nice beer garden, very tasty, plentiful food, great staff, everything is perfect! Always worth a stop!

A geological peculiarity from the old volcanic times can be seen here: the basalt steles that can be seen at this point have been given the name "The Pillars of the Earth". I don't know whether Ken Follet also knows this place :-)
