Dating back to the 13th century, the old Fantorno inn was located on the most popular route that connected Bologna and Florence. Over time the routes have changed and the place has lost importance, to the point of being forgotten. The old tavern was probably destroyed in the 19th century, perhaps set on fire by brigands dissatisfied with the service they received. Today it is possible to find, towards Cà di Fresco, a new and functioning Fantorno refuge.

The Church of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary and San Lorenzo is located in Piamaggio, a locality in the municipality of Monghidoro a little more than 3 km north, about 48 km south of the city of Bologna. The church has a façade with a stone portico-pronaos which opens onto an asphalt churchyard; it has a longitudinal plan with a single hall, open on the left side towards a perpendicular volume with an assembly function, and ends in a semi-circular apse covered by a semi-dome. The exterior has, in addition to the stone portico-pronaos, elevations plastered in straw yellow, with a red tympanum on the façade; the interior, on the other hand, features the pair of white-grey colors in the elevations.
