Between the Lavino and Samoggia streams, this ancient church near San Lorenzo in Collina took on its current appearance in the 15th century. The rose window and Renaissance cloister make it one of the most fascinating in the Bolognese Apennines, despite the fact that frescoes relating to the life of San Lorenzo were erased – a few centuries ago.

The church can be reached via a cobbled street. The entrance is preceded by a grassy churchyard; a stone sidewalk was built close to the facade in modern times. The façade, completely plastered in antique pink, is marked by entablature and projecting pilasters, which divide the space into three, and ends with a tympanum which supports a stone memorial stone with an iron cross. In line with the entrance door there is a rectangular window with a stone frame. Two connecting sections connect the facade with the former rectory, on the right, and the ancient cemetery on the left, now covered and converted into an artisan workshop. The sides of the church are covered by the parish rooms attached to them, except for the pediment. To the right of the church, behind it, stands the exposed brick bell tower. The gabled roof of the religious complex is made of tiles. The façade of the church presents local signs of leakage at the external edges due to the oxidation of the metal flashings placed to protect the projecting cornices.
