This stretch connects the two villages along a scenic and quiet dirt road that passes through fields and patches of Mediterranean scrub. The surface is compact and easily passable, at least when dry.

A visit including a guided tour is worthwhile. It takes about 1 hour.

In the countryside of Piscinas, around 1000, the Benedictines built a convent, the center of local activities. Over the centuries, the town of Piscinas was united with Giba and passed to various feudal lords, until it was assigned to the Salazar family of Iglesias in 1587. At the end of the nineteenth century, the Salazars built Villa Salazar (or Villa Bice), designed by the architect Giorgio Asproni, acquired by the Municipality in 2002 to make it a multipurpose cultural center, immersed in a park with rare and centuries-old plants.

The Is Zuddas caves, located in Sulcis near Santadi, are located in Monte Meana, a 530 million year old Dolomite massif. Discovered in 1971, these active caves maintain a constant temperature of 16°C and high humidity. The 500-meter route reveals remarkable concretions, including the rare needle-shaped aragonites called "cave flowers", and in the initial part there are fossil remains of Prolagus sardus, an extinct endemic lagomorph.

Cantina di Santadi, located in Sulcis in Sardinia, was founded in 1960 and, thanks to a new management, focuses on the production of bottled wines, in particular reds based on the Carignano grape variety, without neglecting the traditional Sardinian whites. The arrival of the oenologist Giacomo Tachis marks a turning point, leading to the creation of high-quality red wines aged in barriques and refined white wines, combining innovation and respect for the tradition of the territory. The Phoenician-Punic settlement of Pani Loriga is an important archaeological complex, including a fortified settlement and two necropolises, located in the municipality of Santadi.

The Is Zuddas caves were discovered in 1971. They can be visited upon reservation and checking the timetable.
