The climb from the Penice Pass is challenging but short (3.6 km). At the top, you can enjoy a wide view of the valleys below.

Challenging climb and if done from the valley also quite long, the view from the summit is beautiful and the tarts at the monastery bar are excellent

Done last week .. fairly clean road ... average gradient of 9/10% small tear in the final around 12% .. be careful on the descent ... in some curves there is a lot of gravel ....

It hosts the Monte Alpe Nature Reserve which is one of the regional nature reserves established by the Lombardy region, located at an altitude between 762 m and 1,254 meters above sea level, for most of its surface within the municipality of Menconico and, for a small part, also in the municipalities of Varzi and Romagnese
