Area with tables. Often dirty with abandoned garbage, a shame.

The Church of San Pietro Apostolo is a Catholic place of worship with Baroque and Neoclassical architecture, located in the small town of Fragno, a hamlet of Calestano, in the province and diocese of Parma. It is the seat of a parish within the pastoral area of Montagna. HISTORY: The original place of worship was built in the Middle Ages; the earliest evidence of its existence dates back to 1230, when the chapel was mentioned in the Capitulum seu Rotulus Decimarum of the Diocese of Parma among the dependencies of the parish of Castrignano. The dedication of the temple to San Pietro Apostolo was first mentioned in 1494. Around 1660, the old church, located in a landslide-prone position, was demolished and rebuilt in Baroque style in a safer location. Around the mid-19th century, the church was modified with the addition of side windows, and the new neoclassical façade was built in 1858. In 1954, the place of worship underwent restoration and interior decoration by Emanuele Quintavalla. A bivouac with a fireplace and stove is always open. Located at the foot of Mount Sporno, it's an excellent shelter in times of need or simply for a rest. The refuge is always open and accessible. Naturally, please respect the basic rules, taking any waste down with you and leaving everything tidy (preferably better than you found it).

La Cava is always La Cava..... You look out and... without thinking too much, you go. If you get past the first part, it's done :-). Jokes aside. This is a stretch to be tackled with caution and with good MTB riding skills. To avoid the first part, you can take the short variant to the left which in any case is steep and has some roots.

Some summit crosses, like this one, have no corpus, while others have the figure of the crucified Christ. But the most famous crucifix on the Italian peninsula leads us from here to the Po Valley. It is there in the 'Bassa' that the writer Giovanni Guareschi (1908 to 1968) set his popular short stories about the protagonists 'Don Camillo' and 'Peppone'. But apart from these two, there is another main character: Jesus Christ himself speaks from the high altar to the priest Don Camillo - who was played excellently by the actor Fernandel (Fernand Joseph Désiré Contandin, 1903 to 1971) in several feature films. The crucifix, originally made just for the film adaptations, has been preserved and has become a popular tourist attraction in Brescello (Emilia-Romagna). It can be visited virtually as a komoot highlight at the following link =>> https://www.komoot.com/de-de/highlight/6457013
