One of the most beautiful refuges in the entire Lario, it is located between Monte Crocione and Monte Galbiga, it is also very beautiful because you can arrive by bicycle via a road that starts from Argegno and which in the last 4 km is of military type.

This is a refuge 1,576 meters above the sea level. It offers catering service with a large internal room with fireplace for about 70 people and a large outdoor area with lake view. The refuge also has 40 beds. Since it can also be reached by car, it can be very popular. It is advisable to book in advance for both eating and sleeping. From the refuge you can follow a mainly panoramic route that leads to Monte Crocione.

The access to Monte Generoso, marked in blue and white, begins at Alpe Perostabbio. From here, absolute concentration and sure-footedness as well as a head for heights apply, the path is consistently rated T4.

The alpine variant up to Monte Generoso is the only highlight. The path is great for climbing and very well secured in the very exposed places. For those who find this too airy, there is also the possibility to secure yourself in the upper area. From Monte Generoso over to the Baraghetto there is a via ferrata which in the last section makes your heart beat faster. Of course, sure-footedness and a head for heights are a must here too... alpine experience is highly recommended.

The path up to Monte Generoso first leads steeply through the beech forest on the red and white marked mountain hiking trail in the direction of Perostabbo...here you have a great view over Lake Lugano and the Ticino mountains up to the 4000m peaks of Valais. From here the path continues, marked blue and white, up to Monte Generoso. Absolute surefootedness and a head for heights are absolute musts here! You can also secure yourself in the upper area. An absolute treat for everyone who enjoys scrambling.

Rifugio at the Top of the Mountain. A brilliant view, nice food and super friendly owner. The Road up there is totally rideable with the Roadbike. The tarmac is not in great condition but it's worth it.
