A beautiful little harbor.

A magnificent, unusual sculpture. It's made of rusty metal, is a decent size, and offers many different perspectives. It's worth taking your time to admire it. Walking all the way around it will give you the best impressions. Naturally, the object serves as a symbol for the town of Herzberg (Mark).

The late Gothic fieldstone church of Herzberg (Mark) was built in the 13th century and is notable for its striking tower with a stepped gable. The tower currently has a clearly visible crack several meters long. Inside, the two wooden baptismal angels are particularly striking. The portal to the churchyard and the adjacent cemetery is also a listed building.

The imposing building is truly impressive, and fortunately, as an "open church," it can also be easily viewed from the inside! In ancient times, it also served as a fortified church, offering shelter to the local peasant population when needed. The fieldstone masonry has a severe crack.

The Heart Mountain in Herzberg 🤩

The church tower with its stepped gable dominates the skyline of the second-largest village in the district. The 13th-century fieldstone church, with its striking use of clinker brick, is surrounded by the churchyard. The pillars and pointed arches form an effective structure for the tower. Also worth seeing are the frescoes from the late Gothic and Renaissance periods. The two baptismal angels and the wooden sculptures of the apostles Peter and Paul are noteworthy.
