The gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle in Merano cover 12 hectares with a height difference of 100 meters. There are always spectacular views of the more than 80 garden landscapes, the surrounding mountains and the city of Merano. Gently curved paths take you on a journey through four garden worlds with plants from all over the world, past sunny terraces and babbling brooks. A visit to the gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle is a MUST!

Directly on the Black Lake, which is usually so frozen in winter that you can skate on it. The restaurant is also open in winter after the public holidays from December 26th to January 8th, after which it is closed for the first time. I can only recommend the beetroot dumplings, they were delicious! The staff at the hut is also particularly friendly and always available for tour tips 😊 usually very busy in summer, as it is only a 20-minute walk from the Vigiljoch mountain station
