The station was located near Schöntal Monastery and once served passenger and freight traffic—especially for agricultural products and visitors to the monastery. With the discontinuation of rail operations in the 1980s, it lost its function.

Today, it is privately owned but houses, among other things, a hotel and serves as a venue for the Jagsthausen Castle Festival, where Goethe's "Götz von Berlichingen" is performed annually on the open-air stage.

In the heart of beautiful Jagsthausen lies the lovingly run village shop with café – a place to shop, relax and meet people.

Not on the Kocher-Jagst cycle path, but Bad Wimpfen is also worth a visit!

As you drive through the Erlenbach Valley, you have a good view of the castle, so stopping is not necessary.
