The Basilica of San Martino contains the most important work that can be seen in Treviglio, the Polyptych of Zenale and Butinone also called the Polyptych of San Martino or Polyptych of Treviglio. Visited by art scholars from all over, it is perhaps not given much consideration by the people of Treviglio, who can admire it during religious functions, and pass in front of it almost without noticing. The work was commissioned in May 1485 by Simone da San Pellegrino, then parish priest of Treviglio, to Bernardino Butinone and Bernardo Zenale.

The hydroelectric power plant of Trezzo sull’Adda (MI), named after Alessandro Taccani, is a production plant and an iconic monument located on the banks of the Adda River. It was built in an eclectic style (a mixture of different styles) between the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century by the architect Gaetano Moretti, designer of the nearby workers’ village of Crespi d’Adda, at the request of the industrialist Cristoforo Benigno Crespi to supply energy to his cotton mill. The power plant was built between 1903 and 1906 at the base of the rocky promontory that determines the bend of the river and on whose summit remain the ruins of the castle built in 1370 by Barnabò Visconti, on the remains of a previous Lombard structure. For this reason, at the request of the industrialist Crespi, the power plant was built using the local stone called “ceppo d’Adda” and taking up the verticalizing modules of the fortress above, so as to integrate perfectly with the surrounding environment. The interiors were also taken care of in a particular way and present a particular liberty style contaminated by neo-gothic.
