Beautiful cycle path with good surface

The obelisk of Arcole is the only trophy still existing in Italy among the many erected to the glory of Napoleon. The Battle of the Bridge of Arcole was a battle fought at the Bridge of Arcole in Italy on 15 November 1796 between France under Napoleon Bonaparte and Austria under József Alvinczi during the Italian Campaign of 1796–1797 in the War of the First Coalition. The Napoleonic army bit the dust (or rather the mud) several times, which demotivated the French troops, and Napoleon himself stormed the bridge with a flag and sword in front, which then had to be relieved. In the end, the Austrian army was defeated and Arcole and the entire Venetian region were taken by Napoleon. The Napoleon Museum can be visited in Arcole and an obelisk was placed at the bridge in memory of the battle.
