A very nice view of the Petersberg.

The story behind the Goose Fountain is as follows: As recently as the beginning of the 20th century, communal goose-herding existed in some Rhenish-Hessian towns, including Bechtolsheim. The shepherd would go from farm to farm, blowing the horn to gather the geese, sometimes several hundred of them, which he would lead out of the village into the fields and meadows to graze. In the evening, they would return. I think it's great that the knowledge of this tradition isn't lost... so this fountain is something like a "Rhenish-Hessian knight's stone"!

Adenauer Corner

Beautifully situated and a nice resting place not only on the 3 Towers hike

The square around it is the so-called Kanzlereck. It is named after Konrad Adenauer, who travelled along the railway branch line here during his visit in 1957. The railway line has since been dismantled and is now a great cycle path 👍

Taking a ferry across a river is like a little sea voyage. However, you may have to wait a little longer for the crossing because it is full. But that doesn't matter, there is a pretty nice view. You also meet interesting people, have short conversations...
