Excellent stopping point for a swim in the splendid crystal clear sea, with a view of Gallipoli

The coast of Punta Pizzo is a protected natural area south of Gallipoli. It is characterized by a rocky and jagged coast, with small inlets and caves, and the sea is of an intense and clear blue, rich in marine fauna and flora. The tip of the promontory can only be reached by foot or bicycle paths, where there is also a sixteenth-century coastal defensive tower.

Spiaggia Pizzo is a corner of paradise in Salento. Located south of Gallipoli, it offers a beach of fine white sand, bathed by a transparent and clean sea. The lido is equipped with umbrellas, sunbeds, showers and toilets, but there are also stretches of free beach along the coast. From here it is worth taking a walk to Punta della Suina to the north, or Punta Pizzo to the south.

Punta della Suina is one of the most beautiful and famous beaches of Salento a few kilometers away from Gallipoli. It offers a breathtaking view of the sea and the beach is made up of fine golden sand, surrounded by a pine forest that offers shade and coolness. It is an unmissable destination for those who want to fully experience the magic of Salento.

A beautiful cycle path crosses the dunes near the beach. I expect it to be very busy in the summer, but you may enjoy cycling in the spring.

This stretch of road from Baia Verde to Canale dei Samari has been forbidden to cars since 2022 and the white beach and crystal clear sea make the place spectacular. The road passes very close to the dunes, so be careful with road bikes as the wind can accumulate sand on the path.

The wood stands on land that was once a tuff quarry. Adjacent to the pecorso it is possible to find quite deep holes to which attention must be paid.
