Steep, a bit more challenging...

The German Wine Gate in Silent-Rechenbach is accessible all year round and offers a beautiful all-round view. It is built in the style of a Roman fort. From a historical perspective, you should know that it was created in 1936 during National Socialism at the same time as the Wine Route. When looking at the Weintor from the French side, the former imperial eagle can still be seen; the obligatory swastika was subsequently knocked out. All too understandable. There are some very good winemakers in the surrounding area and it is highly recommended to try one or two wines.

Heavy uphill, unfortunately still affected by Harvester. Downhill is so exciting...

The Rußbachweiher is dammed in two small ponds before it continues on its way towards the Rhine. Nice place to take a break or start a tour from the hiking car park. However, the crane flies also like the ponds...

Trail near the hiking parking lot descends to an unnamed spring. The first short section is definitely in the direction of S2, with three switchbacks that are just barely manageable without reversing. The second section is much easier and you can just roll along. Part of MTB Tour 10. The spring at the end (forest path intersection) only has sporadic water and isn't suitable for filling a water bottle.

Beautiful views over the Bienwald to the Black Forest. One of the two benches bears a very touching inscription: "Une pensée pour toi, notre cher Seppel, +19.12.2013, à chaque arrivée ici, Tes amis du V.T.T."
