Wetlands are of great importance for ecology, climate protection, and flood protection. The Ramsar Convention, initiated by UNESCO, aims to ensure international cooperation in the protection of wetlands. 74 percent of wetlands are threatened.[1] Important remaining wetlands include the Pantanal, the floodplains of Bahr Aouk and Salamat, the Everglades, the Okavango Delta, the bayous, and the Wadden Sea.

The Nabu information hut is located directly on the hiking trail at the entrance to the beach.

Finally the path is finished.....and now dry to walk on.👍

The hiking trail leads through a fantastically beautiful landscape, although the robust cattle (Highlanders) were at some distance

This 500 m long path has pastures on both sides that are grazed all year round. It's fun to watch the Highland Cattles, sheep and Heidschnucken.

It's great that the horses also have their own beach 🐴

The horse bathing area is directly north of Gut Wahlstorf and can be reached via a beautiful avenue of birch trees.
