The Ramsar Convention, initiated by UNESCO, aims to ensure international cooperation in the protection of wetlands. 74 percent of wetlands are threatened.[1] Important remaining wetlands include the Pantanal, the floodplains of Bahr Aouk and Salamat, the Everglades, the Okavango Delta, the bayous, and the Wadden Sea.

The horse bathing area is directly north of Gut Wahlstorf and can be reached via a beautiful avenue of birch trees.

Coming from Gut Wahlstorf it's pretty uphill. But very nice route with wonderful views of the Lanker See. No traffic because vehicles are closed.
