The mill was expanded by the Cistercians and developed into a large workshop, which served as a machine hall and, in addition to milling grain, also facilitated other production processes such as hammering, stamping, and oil-making. The buildings were constructed of granite ashlars, which are still clearly visible today. The mill building was probably originally four stories high and designed as a four-wheel mill with four openings for waterwheel shafts.

A permanent exhibition, opened in April 2017, provides information about the life and work of the monks, as well as historical discovery and monument preservation efforts.
