View of the Donnersberg mountain.

A worthwhile and well-maintained building.

1120 - 1126 founded by Werner I of Bolanden 13th century: a famous member of the [women's] convent was the mystic Christina von Habe, whose stay we owe the only descriptions of the monastery. 1525: destroyed in the Peasants' War. After reconstruction, increasing loss of importance 1656: destroyed again in the Thirty Years' War. Still used only as a church. 1970s/80s: the Bolanden local history society founded by Karl Obry saves the monastery church Source: information board on site; detailed information: https://www.bolander-heimatverein.de/kloster-hane/ From 1977 to 1995, the Hane monastery was extensively renovated. Events organized by the Bolanden local history society take place here.

Beautiful town hall right in the middle of the village. Opposite, a small green area with benches (NO more parking!) has been created, including a "Bolander cat" (= nickname of the Bolander citizens) made of concrete.

Unfortunately, the cemetery was closed (as of Nov. 2024). But you can take a quick look at some of the graves from the entrance gate. "There are 34 gravestones and base remains. The gravestones have family names such as Seligmann, Frank, Strauss, Metzger, Mandel, Klein, Gümbel, Ullmann, Fröhlich, Seelenberger and Rothschild. The last burial was in 1938." This blue building was formerly a schoolhouse, built in 1823 (see lintel).

"The 'Gray Tower', in the center of the town, was built as a church tower in the 15th/16th century. In the 18th century, the adjacent nave burned down."
