From Ehmkendorf, a meadow path winds through a beautiful hilly landscape, down into the Maibach and Recknitz valleys.

The lilacs had already bloomed when we passed by in July. It seems as if it really is a private road 🤔

Walkendorf Church is located on Kastanienallee. It is built entirely of brick and is a very beautiful building. There is a war memorial here, and right next to it is a freestanding bell tower with two bells and the Walkendorf cemetery.

The Dalwitz Estate is located in Mecklenburg, about an hour from Rostock. It is owned by Dr. Heinrich von Basswitz and his wife, Countess Lucy von Basswitz. Here, you can spend a wonderful, relaxing vacation.

Dalwitz was a manor village. Since 1349, the land around Dalwitz has been owned by the Counts of Bassewitz. Starting in 1992, Count Heinrich Bassewitz expanded the Dalwitz estate into an organic farm. The farm received the Agricultural Culture Prize in 1999 and the Thünen Medal in 2001. The manor house, built in the Swedish country house style in 1726, was remodeled and expanded in the Tudor style in 1855. After 1992, vacation apartments were built on the estate, as well as a riding stable with a riding facility and a restaurant. This offers numerous options for vacationers. The farm shop and the excellent restaurant "La Remise" offer supplies, as does the nearby small shop "Ihre Kette."

There is a herd of wild horses in this pasture. If you're lucky, one of the animals will come close to the fence.

Unfortunately, there is a sign prohibiting entry here. It is probably private property. From the outside, the lilac looks quite pretty, even if it is not blooming so profusely this year.

In addition to the pretty church and the wooden, open bell tower, the ancient linden tree next to the bell tower is also worth seeing. Its trunk is open and you could even hide in it.
