Bar dü Mar. They only sold cocktails; anyone who wanted coffee was kindly sent on their way. It was a long, long time ago... Feet in the sand or behind a warm wall, a fine restaurant with regional products, and the chilled beach bar with cocktails and homemade drinks. Burgers, salads, or the finest barbecue, wine and delicious coffee with a slice of fresh cake, ice cream, chill-out areas, live acts, private parties, corporate incentives, Christmas parties, and always the most beautiful sunset on the Dümmer and simply "Atmosphere dü Mar." The approximately 100-meter-long wooden footbridge leads into the reed zone and pasture belt of the "Hohe Sieben" nature reserve, which also features a birdwatching station. The Dümmer is known for these large winter gatherings of waterfowl. Such marsh meadows were widespread in the lowlands even before the Dümmer was dammed. A row of posts in the water reduces wave action in the shore area of the nature reserve and promotes reed growth in the shallow water. Cormorants like to dry their wings here, and various species of gulls can also be found here. Overall, the Dümmer, with its surrounding meadows and pastures, is one of the most important habitats for animal and plant species in Lower Saxony. Bird species that have long since disappeared elsewhere still find suitable habitats here.
