A quick note about Slettestrand, as the access road to our house has been newly repaired with gravel. It took a while because it had to be spread and leveled.

The mill at Grønnestrand is the only remaining heather-covered mill in Denmark that is over 100 years old.
Most of the mill's structure is made of oak. The sails and the engine are made of larch, which is lighter and more flexible. The mill is thatched with heather from the surrounding area.

Grønnestrand beach is a wide, white sandy beach with pebbles and sand.
Cars are not allowed on the beach.
On the gravel road leading down to the beach, you can see tractors pulling boat trailers.
These are today's coastal fishermen, recreational fishermen, casting their nets from the open beach.
