The Büsnau meadow valley is a last remaining piece of nature on the outskirts of the city. It was designated a nature reserve as early as 1989. The area is characterized by meadows, streams, ponds, reeds, and hedgerows. At least 300 plant species and over 150 bird species have been recorded within the protected area.

To avoid the railway underpass, you can also take this route to Renningen. It's a good ride.

At this central point, various forest paths converge and form a large, star-shaped intersection. There is also a large shelter here, as well as several places to sit.

Beautiful area for walking

A large, very beautiful market square with the town hall as its central focal point. On the left (looking towards the town hall) is the Kepler Monument, and just behind it is the City Museum. On the right is the tourist information office.

Büsnauer Wiesental Nature Reserve: The meadows in the Büsnauer Wiesental are only a last remnant of what was once a much more extensive meadow landscape. Where the Max Planck Institutes now stand, the Büsnauer Hof state domain was formerly used as meadows, horse and sheep pastures, and fields. In 1837, all buildings were demolished. Only the former cheese dairy remained as a sheep barn until it, too, had to make way for the expansion of Büsnauer Straße in the 1950s. Today, the nature reserve is severely restricted by buildings and intensively used farmland.
