The castle is privately owned and not open to the public, so the path and the beautiful tree-lined avenue cannot be admired directly. However, the avenue and the castle can be clearly seen from a distance.

The castle exudes a certain coolness due to its architecture, making it distinctive. The tower dates back to 1620, and the earliest additions by various owners date from 1749.

The building consists of a flat west tower with a narrowed spire, a three-aisled nave, a transept, and a choir. The church is considered one of the oldest churches in Limburg. It is dedicated to Saint Maurice. The church building is constructed partly of Maastricht limestone and partly of Kunrade limestone.

It is a three-aisled cruciform church with a central nave and two side aisles. The gable roofs are covered with slate, and the square tower has a diamond-shaped roof. The tower features decorative brickwork at the eaves and between the four floors.
