Museum Vaals (De Zwarte Madonna) This is probably the most famous museum in Vaals, housed in the monumental monastery chapel of the former Camillian monastery 'De Esch'. What to see: An overwhelming collection of more than 200 statues of saints (some up to 3.5 meters tall) and religious folk art. The combination with changing exhibitions of modern art makes it a special place. The atmosphere: The chapel has been transformed into a 'colorful diorama'. In the accompanying museum café, De Zwarte Madonna, you sit on old church chairs, and the bar is even made from antique altars. Location: Eschberg 7, Vaals. Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

The building consists of a flat west tower with a narrowed spire, a three-aisled nave, a transept, and a choir. The church is considered one of the oldest churches in Limburg. It is dedicated to Saint Maurice. The church building is constructed partly of Maastricht limestone and partly of Kunrade limestone.

St. Peter's Church is a striking historic building in the village, with a distinctive tower and traditional architecture. The village square and greenery are often visible around the church, making it a landmark during your walk.

St. Peter's Church in Valkenburg aan de Geul is a Neo-Romanesque church, notable for its architectural style and location in the town center. The church is built of the characteristic marlstone common in South Limburg. Originally dating back to the Middle Ages, the church has been renovated several times, with its current design largely dating from the 19th century. The tower, likely still Romanesque, is one of the oldest parts of the building.
