In addition to the Visbeker Bridegroom's large stone grave, it is easy to miss the smaller graves. Both date back to the Neolithic period and are 5,000 to 5,500 years old.

The Ahlhorn fish ponds are always worth a detour, even if I didn't buy any fish today.

little info from the internet: The pagan sacrifice table - a large stone tomb of Nordic megalithic architecture - is laid out in an east-west direction and without a border; there is no evidence of overhilling. There were once seven supporting stones on one long side and six on the other. Two of the former three capstones are still there. The pagan offering table has the largest and heaviest surviving capstone of all large stone graves in Oldenburg: with a size of around 5 m × 3 m, the relatively flat capstone is said to weigh around 40 tons. It was originally significantly larger (7.0 m × 3.0 m × 1.2 m), because at least two pieces were demolished in the early 19th century and used as building material. The burial chamber is approximately 10.0 m × 2.5 m in size and there is no evidence of a surround. The entrance, of which no stones have been preserved, was probably in the western part of the south side.

Very nice recreation area at the Ahlhorn fish ponds.

The Teichwirtschaft Ahlhorn is located between Cloppenburg and Grossenkneten near the A29 motorway. In the middle of the lakes is a youth center of the Evangelical Church. The fish ponds are managed by the Ahlhorner Teichwirtschaft, which also operates an information center including a forest education center. This 15 km long circular hike takes you on forest trails and paths around the various fish ponds and integrates the lonely Lake Diana south of the fish ponds.
