かつては養魚専用に造られたアールホルン養魚池（Ahlhorner Fischteiche）は、今日では重要な自然保護区となっています。周囲の道や小道は、水辺の風景を眺めながら変化に富んだハイキングを楽しめる多くの機会を提供しています。養魚は今日でも行われており、独自の燻製所と独自の店舗を持つ養魚場への訪問も価値があります。

見晴らし塔は、狩猟用の高台の形をしています。ここから教会の池、葦に縁取られた岸辺、小さな島を眺め、鳥の生活を観察することができます。

本来は素敵な場所ですが、Bärhütteでの休憩は完全に台無しにされました。全くもって吐き気がします：誰が休憩所の真ん中で糞をするんだ？！

The old trees are a paradise for woodpeckers and other cavity-nesting birds. Woodpecker holes are home to many new tenants, including stock doves, jays, squirrels, and many more. There are many old trees here in the primeval forest, Baumweg (Tree Path), and the name says it all.

The Baumweg primeval forest is located in the immediate vicinity of the Ahlhorn fish ponds. It is one of three primeval forests in northern Lower Saxony. In addition to the Baumweg primeval forest, there is also the Hasbruch primeval forest between Ganderkesee and Hude, and the Neuenburg primeval forest near Zetel.
