Beautifully situated mountain hut above Lago Sfundau

If you stroll through the streets of the old village center, you feel like you are in a museum. Traditional stone houses, flower-filled balconies, small village shops with local products and restaurants. A visit to the museum and the House of Wool is worth it.

The Cristallina Hut belongs to the Swiss Alpine Club – Section Ticino – Lugano. It is newly built, in the immediate vicinity of Passo Cristallina, at 2575 m, and is located on a saddle that naturally separates Valle Maggia (Valle Bavona) and Valle Bedretto. From the south-facing panorama terrace you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Basodino Glacier and the nearby mountain peaks. The new hut replaces the old structure of 1939. Standing at 2349 m, it was completely destroyed in 1999 by avalanches that thundered down from Pizzo Gararesc to the Bassa di Folcra. For safety reasons, the pass was chosen as the location for the new building. It was built during 8 months, summer 2001 and 2002 and in December 2002 the hut was accessible again. The official inauguration took place in July 2003.

Very nice mountain hut below the Pizza Campo Tencia.. many streams splash through the valley... the food in the hut is delicious!

The Capanna Piansecco is a simple hut that is perfect as a destination or stopover for hikes or ski tours. Built in 1995, it is located at the southern foot of the Pizzo Rotondo in the upper Bedretto valley. The Piansecco hut is open in summer from mid-June to mid-October and in winter from mid-December to mid-April. You can stay in double or four-bed rooms. The last place in the valley that can be reached by car. paid parking lot. Very comfortable, car-free and rewarding walks lead from here to the left and right side valleys
