Beautiful cabin

The Ponte dei Salti is a medieval stone bridge with two arches over the emerald-green waters of the Verzasca River near Lavertezzo in Ticino. It was built in the 17th century and is considered a regionally important cultural asset. The arches have spans of approximately 14 meters. In 1868, part of the bridge was damaged by flooding (particularly an abutment on the right bank), causing one arch to collapse. It was later rebuilt in 1960. The Ponte dei Salti is not only a popular photo subject but also a swimming and diving spot. Some people jump from the bridgehead into the cold, clear water – although the current and deep pools pose dangers, especially at high water levels.

The Capanna Brogoldone is an alpine pasture with two main huts. One hut can accommodate up to 59 people. The other hut houses a small restaurant. Amazing views from up there!

The Capanna Brogoldone was once a mountain pasture and is today the result of a desire to preserve the remains of a bygone era. From 1995 to 1998, a group of volunteers set to work renovating the two existing buildings while maintaining the typical structure of the pasture: the former stable became a dormitory, and the building that once served as a cheese dairy and shelter for the mountain herders was converted into a kitchen and dining room. Lavertezzo borders Cugnasco-Gerra to the north and east, an exclave of Locarno to the south and Gordola to the west.

It's always nice to cool off along the Verzasca when it's too hot in the valley!

On a panoramic terrace overlooking the Lumino valley, stands the Brogldone hut. Excellent for a break to fill up on energy!
