FHH area "South coast of Eckernförde Bay and offshore flats" The Fauna-Flora-Habitat (FFH) area "South coast of Eckernförde Bay and offshore flats" covers a narrow coastal strip on the south side of Eckernförde Bay with an area of 8,238 hectares. On the seaward side, it includes the offshore flats "Stollergrund" and "Mittelgrund" and on land the nature reserve (NSG) "Bewaldete Düne bei Noer". The FFH area has a maximum east-west extension of approx. 27 km and stretches from Eckernförde's south beach in the west to Strande in the east.

自然保護区No.37「Bottsand」は1939年から保護されています。NABU保護区であるHolnis、Geltinger Birk、Schleimündung、Schwansener See、Schmoel、Kleiner Binnensee、Sehlendorfer See、Graswarder、Krummsteert、Wallnauと並び、Bottsand自然保護区はシュレースヴィヒ＝ホルシュタイン州のバルト海沿岸におけるもう一つの宝石です。 ここは典型的な砂嘴（さし）を形成していますが、閉鎖的な海岸湖へのさらなる発展は、20世紀の70年代に建設された近くの休暇施設と隣接する港「Marina Wendtorf」によって遮られています。

The approximately 2 km long Baltic Sea hiking trail from Strande to the lighthouse has a continuous panoramic view of the Kiel Fjord and at the lighthouse even a 270° view of the Bay of Kiel.

There are two alternative paths here: the path on the beach and the path on the cliff. Use the paths depending on the weather.
