At this point, it's as "secret" as the Secreto Ibérico (spoiler alert: post-Pogi, everyone knows it's there and wants to do it). Needless to say, it's HARD as few things are, but enjoyable, and you can climb without any rush at your own pace. The views are magnificent on each side/valley. It reaches its peak a few meters past the forest hut. Add to that, it's worth continuing along the trail (bike on shoulder) to the top of Carrascal for even more epic views.

If there’s one climb that defines cycling on the Costa Blanca, it’s Coll de Rates. Starting from the village of Parcent, this legendary ascent has become a must-ride for cyclists from around the world — from weekend warriors to Tour de France champions. With its mix of scenery, steady gradients and cycling history, Coll de Rates is one of the most climbed — and most loved — ascents in the world. If you ride only one climb in the region, make it this one.

Coll de Rates PLUS: after the moderate ascent to coll de rates pass, this extra climb offers incredible views to both valleys North and South and until the sea. You. It goes about 3km and 400hm with up to 12% up. The steep parts alternate with flat(ter) parts to catch some breath. its a clear challenge for body and mind. Tedej Pogačar went up here on on Jan 1st 2022 and is still under the Top 5. #worththe effort

Perhaps not the most beautiful, but certainly the most famous climb in the region. The climb is beautiful but is especially popular because it is perfect for the pros to test in terms of length and gradient. From Parcent up, the climb is about 6.5 km with an average gradient of just over 5% (and no more than 8% on the steepest parts). Those who have breath left can enjoy beautiful views along the way 😁

This is a nice little road to drive, but the road between Lliber and Gata which runs roughly parallel is nicer and quieter (in terms of cars).

Lovely descent, when coming from the south side. Probably also a pretty okay climb from the north side.

The Coll de Rates​ is a hill between the Ferrer mountains and the Carrascar de Parcent mountain range, dividing the Valencian regions of Marina Alta and Marina Baja. The hill is located at 628 meters high and the CV-715 road runs through it, linking Benidorm with Gandía passing through Pego.

The ascent to the port of Bernia is one of the mythical ones. This road zigzags around the Sierra de Bernia. The views of the mountains and the Alicante coast are worth it. The road is quite calm. It is in good condition, although from time to time you will find patches on the asphalt, especially on the edges. In some sections the slope is more than 12%. Skill on the bike helps in these sections.

This thing is killing. Incredibly beautiful, especially if you manage to get to the top. The views are awesome but you need to cover almost 4km at 12%. If you be Pogacar you can do it in 11min but we are not all that special. Worth the effort though.

This climb is the true meaning of a hidden gem, a phenomenal secret right next to the busiest climb in the area. From the Col d'rates take the short section of gravel road and follow it for 100m where it will turn in to a concrete road from there to the top. It's steep and very hard going but the views from the top are to die for, truly phenomenal!

Just a dream the route. You will be rewarded for a magnificent view and there are also cafés at the top :))
