Did you know the summit is in 3 different counties? I think it’s kinda fun to run through Aberdeenshire, Angus, and Perth and Kinross in a few minutes, though the highest point lies wholly within Angus.

The large shelter cairn was definitely very welcome today as a picnic spot!

Mayar is typical of the Munros of the Mounth, its summit being rounded and fairly undistinguished. It is easily linked with neighbouring Driesh in what is a popular hike for those from the Dundee region. However, its northern slopes fall away to Corrie Fee, a magnificent glacial bowl. This is undoubtedly the mountain's best feature, with steep sides, a picturesque waterfall and a remarkable flat bottom. Keep your eyes peeled for eagles in the skies above.

The highest summit east of the Glenshee ski centre. Can easily be included on a round of the 4 (or 6) Munros east of the Glenshee road. It can also be directly accessed using paths from the Ski Centre itself. Large shelter cairn at the top.

A good viewpoint and can be easily approached from several directions. Many take Jock's road from Glen Callater, or walk with 5 other Munros from Glenshee. However the route I took followed Jock's Road from Glen Doll. Good paths and combined with Tom Buidhe.

Many hike here from Glenshee, however a good route also exists from Glen Doll, using Jock's Road. Following this to Tolmount before coming back around to Tom Buidhe and descending the heather to the track and retrace the outward route. Pleasant woodland and much shorter a day.

A very popular Munro on the Royal estate. Arrive early at weekends or opt for a mid-week walk if starting at Spittal of Glenmuick, as the car park fills up quickly. Alternatively take the long walk in from Invercauld Bridge.

A good beginner Munro and can be walked in a circuit with Dreish. Ascent made by Corrie Fee is well worth it, some spectacular views to be had.

The Summit of Lochnagar sits high on a tor of rock, marked by a Trig point. Excellent views all round and down into Deeside.

From here, the hike back to Glenshee or the Old Military Road can take a good 2-3 hours, depending on conditions, so make sure you have enough daylight/stamina left to tackle this final Munro in the circuit.

Cac Carn Beag is the summit name of this Munro, and the largest of the White Mounth.

Mayar - a Munro in the east of Scotland that is commonly hiked with its neighbour Driesh. A great walk from Glen Clova.

Unfortunately we chose the wrong weather for our tour with five Munros around Loch Muick. The climb to Lochnagar is very well developed due to its proximity to Loch Muick.

Tolmount is a 958m Munro mountain in the Scottish Highlands. When walking over from neighbouring Tom Buidhe it doesn't feel as if you descend an re-ascend much between the two (less than 100m) and it should take just over half an hour.

Tom Buidhe is a 3,140-foot (957 m) Munro in the Scottish Highlands. It's the smallest of the six Munros that make up a natural circuit, east of the Glenshee Ski Centre. It's also the furthest point set back from the road.
