The Westensee Nature Park lies between Kiel, Rendsburg, and Neumünster. Nestled amidst the region's typical hedgerow landscape, you'll find babbling brooks, tranquil lakes, refreshing forests, and expansive meadows. The rolling hills and wide fields make this place perfect for relaxing outdoor excursions. The heart of the nature park, as the name suggests, is Lake Westensee. A very idyllic and quiet bathing area with a long jetty that extends into the Westensee. Large lawn shaded by trees with benches and picnic tables. There is also an outdoor shower. The highlight is the restaurant located right next to the bathing area. High standard, including in terms of prices.

Westensee Nature Park The Westensee Nature Park is located in the particularly charming Holstein landscape, with its rolling hills, in the triangle formed by Kiel, Rendsburg, and Neumünster. Amidst this magnificent natural setting, in a typical Holstein landscape, you'll find babbling streams and rivers, tranquil lakes, refreshing forests, green meadows, and small fields. This mosaic of small landscapes is ideal for individual experiences.

From the jetty at the old Hohburg you have a wonderful view over the Westensee. It's a great place to take a break.

The jetty is private and please respect this. If you still walk to the top, you have a panoramic 270° view over the eastern part of the lake.

The water quality here is - purely visually - changeable, depending on the wind and weather. Cloudy, slightly brownish water with a filmy surface is then not inviting.
