On an area of 14 hectares you will encounter gorillas, Siberian tigers, rhinos, cheetahs, red pandas, a colorful group of flamingos, giraffes, crocodiles, numerous exotic birds and around 2,000 other animals. The large indoor adventure area in the aqua zoo and arthropod zoo make Schmiding a weather-independent excursion destination. The Aquazoo is home to Austria's largest marine aquarium with reef sharks and many other fascinating sea creatures. You will experience a fascinating journey through time through evolution with life-size dinosaur models, piranhas, seahorses, armadillos, and much more. There are also spacious indoor and outdoor adventure playgrounds. An absolute highlight at Schmiding Zoo is certainly the Gorillabai - home to Austria's only gorillas. But also the viewing plateau at the African savannah, which allows visitors to stand face to face with the 6m high giraffes, the spectacular natural habitat for Siberian tigers, the 1 hectare savannah with a wallow for the white rhinos, a group of zebras, ostriches and Sable antelopes, the world's largest walk-in bird of prey enclosure, where powerful vultures can be observed up close and without grid separation, and the huge tropical house with sloths, playful short-clawed otters, curious ruffed lemurs, numerous exotic birds, lazy crocodiles and much more. offer fascinating insights into the animal world.
