This observation hut has stood at this spot for a very long time. It's still stable, but much of the Sumperteich pond is no longer visible; the reed beds have likely expanded considerably, making the visible water surface very limited.

Beautiful pond landscape. Sea eagles can be observed here. The bike path, however, isn't great...

Surrounded by picturesque nature, it offers a tranquil atmosphere, ideal for relaxing or having a picnic. The pond is also popular with anglers, as it is home to a variety of fish species.

It leads through the fascinating landscape of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Upper Lusatian Heath and Pond Landscape.

Just enjoy the forest. There are signposts along the path so that you can't get lost. There are other marked paths on both sides that invite you to keep walking. :-)

The Upper Lusatian heath and pond landscape was recognized as a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1996. Together with the northern part in Lower Lusatia, this cultural landscape forms the largest contiguous pond landscape in Central Europe.
