The narrow-gauge railway connected Möckmühl with Dörzbach and ran for approximately 40 kilometers through the idyllic Jagst Valley, including Jagsthausen. The line opened in 1905 and remained in operation until the 1980s, most recently primarily for freight traffic.

A great trail that winds along the Jagst River. The sound of the river can be heard repeatedly.
